Fundraising A common statement used many times by ministries is that they are a "faith ministry" or they depend on the gifts from supporters. While we certainly acknowledge proper Christian practice is to walk in faith continuously before God and virtually all ministries cannot function without funds, money should not be a major concern. That is to say, money should not stop us from doing what God has told us. Yes it is true that we can accomplish more in less time when funds are not limited. However, God's commands to ministry are issued without regard to wealth. Perhaps in many cases his command may in fact be a test of our faith. Although fundraising efforts in many cases can bring dishonor to the name of Jesus, there is a place for appropriate and wholesome exchange of services or goods for money to further the work of the ministry. For that reason we engage in numerous activities to raise funds. We certainly would not refuse gifts and offerings or items of worth that could be sold to raise funds. However, we are not standing idly by while souls are perishing in need of our love and support. God told Moses at the edge of the Red Sea, in effect facing his limitation, use what is in your hand. That is exactly what we are trying to do. By God's grace and as he provides funds we will answer the call and be instruments to help build his kingdom.
